Where
can I get Ytunnel Pro?
- Log off Yahoo! messenger.
- Open Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel
- Scroll down until you find Yahoo! Messenger
- Cllick on 'Remove'
- A box will pop up, choose 'Custom'
- Click 'Next'
- Click 'Select All', then 'Next', then 'Selct
All', then 'Next'
- Continue until Yahoo! Messenger is completely
uninstalled
- Reboot your computer and Reinstall Yahoo
from either the older version you downloaded
- I recommend running the Yahoo! 'repair'
immediately upon rebooting after installation'
(the repair option is not available with Yahoo! 8.0 or above)
- IF you install Yahoo! Messenger With Voice
(7) run the Call Setup Wizard the first
time you log on.

Double click on your speaker icon next to your clock.
This opens your 'Sound Control' panel
'Mute' the microphone volume in there.
Then:
Click on 'options'... then on 'properties'... then on 'recording'
This will open your 'Record Control' panel
Adjust your microphone volume there, then try again
Think about this:
When you get 'booted, freeze up, lose voice, can't see typing in
chat or pm's,
Your Yahoo Messenger has become corrupt in some way
Whether it be a cache file, dll file, codec, etc..
Yahoo! has incorporated a 'Repair Option' for you to use.(not available
with Yahoo! 8.0 or above)
Yahoo depends on a lot of dll files, registry entries, 'cache' files,
etc.
It interacts with IE, uses Java, Shockwave, Media player codecs,
graphics, etc..
If your computer gets 'overloaded', or resources get low,
one of the first programs that Windows will shut down is Yahoo!
When you run the Yahoo Repair, it rebuilds all of yahoo's files
and entries.
- Log off Yahoo! messenger.
- Open Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel
- Scroll down until you find Yahoo! Messenger
- Click on 'Remove'
- A box will pop up, click on the 'Repair'
option
- Click 'Next'
- Click 'Finish'
- If asked, click on 'Yes to All'
- When another box pops up and says: 'Select
Installation Path Name' Click on 'Cancel'

Right click on an open spot on your desktop.
Move your mouse down over 'New' in the menu that pops up.
Move your mouse up to 'Shortcut' and left click on it.
In the 'Type the location' bar, type in: (with the " ")
"C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\UNWISE.EXE"
NOTE: If you have yahoo on another hard drive,
Change the 'C' to the corresponding letter of the hard drive
Most computers will have it on the 'C' drive.
Click 'Next'
Then click 'Finish'
Now you can run the Yahoo! 'Repair' from your desktop!

To run the Call Setup Assistant:
Open the Messenger menu in the main Yahoo! Messenger window, and
click Preferences.
In the Preferences dialog box, click Calling and Audio.
In the Calling and Audio dialog box, click Open the Call Setup Assistant.
Follow the instructions to test your microphone and speakers and
specify your Internet connection.
Running the Call Setup Assistant will insure that you have a high-quality
voice experience within Yahoo! Messenger.
You can run the Call Setup Assistant at any time to make sure your
microphone and speakers
are working properly or to change the type of Internet connection
you are using.
Also available is the older version of Yahoo! Audio Setup Wizard:
Yacswiz.exe
(save it to your 'My Documents' folder and run it whenever you have
voice problems)

You already have the 'Hidden' smileys if you have installed Yahoo
Messenger on your computer!
BUT: They're 'hidden' (get it?)
you have to type in the corresponding keystrokes with your keyboard
to put them in:

We all know that yahoo is a big resource hog:
Yahoo! With Voice has just made it worse !!
The reason you get 'bumped' off yahoo, or get 'Ypager.exe' errors
is:
Windows needs a certain amount of resources to run properly.
When a program like Yahoo, tries to use resources that are needed
by Windows,
your computer, to protect itself shuts down Yahoo.
Windows will do this with any program that tries to use resources
that aren't available.
That is generally the cause for programs freezing, closing down,
lagging, etc.....
When you installe(d) Yahoo! Messenger With Voice, it installed some
extra programs and files that aren't necessary.
They are:
Yahoo Toolbar
Yahoo Extras
Yahoo Install Manager = useless
Yahoo Internet Mail = (almost useless)
Also during the install if you didn't click on 'Custom Install'
Your home page is now www.yahoo.com
You now have all of the 'extras' installed on your computer
You added 'Yahoo Toolbar, Yahoo Extras, Install Manager, etc...
Those settings
were changed on your computer.
If you didn't read the install window:
(there is a 'Custom
Install' option there)
(you should have unchecked
all the boxes except 'Desktop Shortcut')
If you are on dialup: the download and installlation will be MUCH
FASTER!! (approx 50 meg less)
If you installed yahoo on your computer:
Go to Add/Remove Programs in your control panel
Scroll to the bottom of your list REMOVE everything that says Yahoo!
except Yahoo! Messenger
Total space of programs removed will be between 45 and 55 meg!
Resources freed by removal of those programs will be noticeable!
Your Yahoo! Messenger will run better.
P.S.
You should really defragment your computer after uninstalling that
much!

IF you installed yahoo direct from the
Yahoo! Messenger page,
you might want
to do a complete uninstall and reinstall
as per my instructions?
